Turkish Shish Kebabs

The world's most famous kebab. This version uses yoghurt in the marinade that needs at least twelve hours to work its wonders. The vegetables go on separate skewers because they will cook quickly, while the lamb is cut in large pieces so it can remain nice and tender.

    diced into 3cm pieces
  • 500
    ml
    Plain Yoghurt
    or greek
  • 2
    tbsp
    Olive Oil
  • 3
    clove(s)
    Garlic
    peeled and crushed
  • 1
    tsp
    Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2
    tsp
    Sea Salt
  • 1
    tsp
    Freshly Ground Pepper
  • 1
    whole
    Zucchini
    medium, cut into 1/2 cm slices
  • 1
    whole
    Red Onion
    peeled and cut into 2cm pieces
  • 1
    whole
    Red Capsicum
    cut into 2cm pieces
  • 8
    whole
    Cherry Tomatoes
  • 12

    Metal Skewers
    or you can use wooden skewers if you prefer

Directions

  • 1 Combine all ingredients for the shish kebabs and marinate overnight or up to twenty four hours.
  • 2 Place the meat on eight skewers and cook over high heat. While the meat is cooking, divide the vegetables among four skewers and cook along side the meat.
  • 3 Serve two lamb and one vegetable kebab per person with pita or Turkish bread and MasterFoods tomato and Chilli Pickle.
