Teriyaki Beef Balls

Sounds like something you picked up on shore leave in Guam, but tastes like something you'd find in fine restaurant. Quick and easy to make, they mix perfectly with some Asian greens or a rice salad.

Ingredients

    Beef Mince
    lean
  • 1
    whole
    Brown Onion
    small, peeled and finely chopped or grated
  • 1
    tsp
    Neutral Oil
  • 1
    whole
    Egg
  • 8
    tbsp
    Teriyaki Marinade
  • 1
    tbsp
    Fresh Coriander
    leaves, finely chopped
  • 0
    tsp
    Sea Salt
    to taste
  • 0
    tsp
    Freshly Ground Pepper
    to taste
  • 8
    whole
    Wooden Skewers
    soaked for 30mins (or use metal ones if you couldn't be bothered with the soaking)

Directions

  • 1 Cook the onion in the oil in a small frying pan over low heat until soft but not brown.
  • 2 Allow the onion the cool slightly and mix it with the meat, egg, four tablespoons of the marinade, coriander, salt and pepper.
  • 3 Roll the mixture into walnut sized balls and thread onto the skewers.
  • 4 Cook on a lightly oiled flat grill for a few minutes on each side until nearly cooked.
  • 5 Drizzle remaining marinade over the skewers and allow to sizzle for a few seconds.
  • 6 Remove from grill and serve with steamed rice and Asian greens or a rice salad.
